Scholarships for young joiners
We love working with wood, we enjoy it and we are among the best at it. However, there is very little interest in our beautiful craft, joinery, among parents and future high school students.
That is why we have decided to support and promote the joinery profession with all our energy. That we will spread our love of the craft as much as we can. We want primary school children to be more interested in the possibilities that will open up for them in the future with joinery. So that one day they would be proud to have chosen the joinery craft. To do their job gladly and with honour.
And what are we doing about it?
WE HAVE INTRODUCED COMPANY SCHOLARSHIPS
Since the beginning of the 2018/2019 school year, in cooperation with the Integrated Secondary School in Slavkov u Brna, we have introduced motivational allowances for students of the three-year apprenticeship in joinery. Each school year, we distribute approximately 4,000 € to apprentices in all three years, either directly in scholarships or by purchasing the necessary tools for students, especially first-year students.
Our scholarships do not commit students to anything, there is no “hook”, students do not sign up to work for our company after completing their studies. If they want to, we will of course be happy to employ them and take care of them, but we certainly don’t force the work on anyone. WE SUPPORT PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN THE AREA
For several years we have been offering primary schools in the Vyškov region the possibility of a field trip to our factory. Children get a peek under the hands of cabinetmakers and joiners and see for themselves the work behind one wardrobe or table. From design to construction, business, and all the way to production itself. Not only trained joiners, but also machine tool programmers, furniture engineers, design engineers, designers or even sales and marketing staff can find a job with us.
In addition to excursions, we also offer the possibility of using our leftover material for the needs of schools, whether it is wooden cross-sections for work in school workshops or material that teachers use in art education, for example. Sometimes we participate in school fairs with our own “workshop”.
WE HAVE SUPPORTED THE CREATION OF THE COMPETITION FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC IN THE FIELD OF JOINERY
Together with the Integrated High School in Slavkov u Brna and the Czech Furniture Cluster we helped to organize and support the first year of the Czech Joinery Championship. We firmly believe that we will also succeed in promoting this competition to the prestigious Czech Hands skills show, where in our opinion joinery as a craft rightly belongs.
